I bought a Lorex N910A6 NVR with five A14 bullet cameras and a 4k doorbell camera. Initially everything worked as it should. I had no issues retrieving videos through the app. A year later the reliability of the app is dismal. I’ll get a notification that someone is on my property, and when I log into the app and attempt to see who is there, I get the error message, “uh oh, something went wrong.” The response from Customer Service is to reboot the system. Well, that takes up to five minutes, and by then the person is usually gone. If you are wanting a product that works reliably, I recommend you look elsewhere. Less annoying is the fact that you can set the resolution of the 4k camera in the app, but it reverts to SD quality. What is the point of paying for the extra resolution when the app will not display it? I will say, locally the NVR displays all camera feeds reliably. It’s the mobile device interface that does not work.

I am writing this out of desperation and frustration. We spent a lot of money on a system and had been working fine for a while, but the moment there's an issue, there is 0 support and no way to contact them! Calling a number based in the US (I'm UK based) is expensive but doable, but if you call their support line, you just get a message saying that the number is not in service! Trying to call them on a landline doesn't work either. I have emailed their Sales and Sales Support addresses, and only their Sales Support responded with "use Skype" to contact the number. Considering Skype is a discontinued product and can only be used if you use Skype for Business, this is a non-answer. Sales nor Sales Support were able to help, and neither even attempted to contact their own Support on my behalf, insisting that filling in their form online or calling them were the only options. I've filled in the ticket form 5 times, and the number doesn't work. I now have a hunk of electronics that I cannot do anything with, and I need to replace it with basically any other company. That was a waste of money that I cannot afford!! Edit - the 0800 phone number hasn't worked for the last 6 weeks we've been trying to call it. You get a dialing tone, one continuous tone for a few seconds and then silence. I even tried to call it from my work phone, my home landline, and my mobile. My work phone won't even dial the number.

I contacted Lorex support today and asked them to send me an update for my L871T8-Z DVR. They emailed it to me, but the update didn't actually work; the process starts normally and says it's installing the software, but when I check the date, it still shows 2022. In other words, there is no software available to download online. It’s the first time I’ve seen a company fail to provide update software for its devices when it's clearly needed. I am very dissatisfied with Lorex; I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Their support is terrible, and the equipment is basically left unsupported.

Terrible customer service and company doesn't stand behind their employee recommendations. I was told to order something totally incompatible with my system. When I realized it wouldn't work and tried to return it they denied the return as it was out of the 30 day return window. Then they tried to sell me another product which again wouldn't work with my system. Unbelievable. After 5 phone calls with customer service I gave up. I will never order from them again.

I cannot recommend Lorex based on my experience. Before purchasing, I spent a lot of time on the phone with customer service asking detailed questions to make sure the system would work for my home. Unfortunately, several important setup requirements were never disclosed. I wasn't told that the recorder requires a monitor or TV for the initial setup, so I had to borrow a computer monitor just to get started. I also wasn't told that the recorder requires a wired ethernet connection. My home network is fully wireless, so I had to purchase a Wi-Fi extender with an ethernet port just to connect the recorder. The installation instructions were also incomplete. They never explained that all of the cameras should be paired near the recorder before being permanently installed. Based on the instructions, I reasonably assumed they should be installed in their final locations first. I paid a handyman to mount three outdoor cameras and a doorbell camera, only to discover they needed to be taken back down for troubleshooting. I spent approximately 20 hours trying to get this system working, with help from three other people. I even asked Lorex if they could provide professional installation. or recommend a local technician familiar with their products, but I was told neither was available. Every device had different problems. One camera never progressed beyond a red status light despite following customer service's instructions exactly. Another camera worked briefly before repeatedly disconnecting and eventually stopped accepting the recorder password. The doorbell camera wouldn't enter pairing mode, then wouldn't accept passwords, then repeatedly displayed "Failed to add device" and "Failed to bind" even though it was only about six feet from both the recorder and the Wi-Fi router. Even after finally connecting, it has continued to go offline frequently. In the end, it was the only device working, and it works less than half the time now. Customer support was courteous, but the troubleshooting process largely repeated the same information already included in the manual and did not address the specific issues I was experiencing. I was literally told to call customer service back later to try again. After investing so much time, purchasing additional equipment, and paying for installation that had to be undone, I no longer have any confidence that this system will function consistently over the long term even if I were to get everything working (unlikely). I requested a refund because the system would not work despite extensive troubleshooting. My refund request was denied, even though Lorex's published return policy states: “Up to six months: if your goods can't be repaired or replaced within a reasonable time or without significant inconvenience to you and without placing an undue burden on Lorex, then you can choose to either have the price reduced or get all of your money back (by returning the product in exchange for a refund).” This was the most difficult and time-consuming consumer electronics setup I've ever encountered. Between the incomplete setup information, unreliable performance, and poor customer support, this system is unrealistic and endlessly frustrating. LOREX DID NOT HONOR THEIR OWN REFUND POLICY. I have replaced my entire system with a different brand that was much easier to set up and is all working well. I will be throwing the Lorex devices in the trash.

Auch nicht für Geld. Unclaimed ist fair. Claimed gibt das Mikrofon — nicht den Radiergummi.
