The equipment is great, the price is good but the men's changing room wreaks of shite and piss.

Deeply concerning treatment of a member who reported harassment at Holloway Road branch. I’m writing this after watching a friend of mine go through an incredibly upsetting experience with PureGym and some of the staff members at this branch (including manager Leteisha and PT Cem). She was a long-standing member who reported harassment and discriminatory behaviour from another member, including a hate crime comment. Instead of feeling supported and protected after raising what she believed was a serious issue, she ultimately had her membership terminated. What concerns me most is how the situation appears to have been handled. She repeatedly tried to raise her concerns through the appropriate channels and even involved the police. She has also spent months trying to obtain answers and understand how decisions about her were reached. I have personally seen how much stress this entire situation has caused her. Whatever PureGym’s version of events may be, a member who reports harassment and discrimination should be able to expect their concerns to be taken seriously, investigated fairly and handled transparently — without being left feeling that they were the problem for speaking up. PureGym publicly talks about creating safe spaces and having zero tolerance for harassment. Based on what I have watched my friend experience, I have serious concerns about whether those principles were reflected in the way her complaint was handled. I would strongly encourage anyone experiencing harassment or discrimination at a gym to document everything, keep copies of correspondence and make sure complaints are made in writing. This whole situation has completely changed my view of PureGym.

As a further review after leaving this gym, I received an email from the support team of this company to let me know that there was really no information that they could tell me regarding the investigation of harassment and threatening in their building during my workout, to simply be satisfied with a mere “please be assured this has been appropriately and formally addressed with the staff member involved and further training has been provided.” I received no contact from any investigator during their work, nor anyone else and it was concluded without anything other than my initial claim. The incident I was faced with was extremely serious, uncomfortable, traumatic and it was not my fault at all, so this is extremely disappointing to see. The further claims I made of my bag being searched for no reason from this manager was also completely ignored. So, they seem to feel that is an okay practice? By all accounts, the manager gets a slap on the wrist and is still working in the gym perfectly fine which is concerning. Do not come to train in Puregym Croydon or any other Puregym for that matter. From the HR team to the managers on the ground running the gym they do not care about you or your well being. They want your money and when they realise you don’t need them and will stand up to and report their behaviour practices, you become a target and they will immediately terminate your membership to safe face. Nana Duah is the name of the abhorrent Assistant Manager of Puregym Croydon who started this incident with me. He also had classes and PT sessions with paying customers all around the gym often and probably still does, it’s quite interesting to see the characters this company trust and put in charge of these facilities. He certainly showed his true self in that moment and I will not forget. He is irresponsible, unhelpful on multiple occasions deliberately and abusive. He should be held accountable. It’s not right that the paying customer who did nothing wrong is the one who needs to be faced with his problems. I do not recommend Puregym to anyone. Being comfortable, feeling safe and not being bothered from aggressive behaviour is a normal expectation of a gym and Puregym failed. You should find somewhere else to train where the safety comes first. I’m sharing my experience as a grown man who is quite strong and fit and it still happened to me. So it will likely happen to you also. Apparently, only after all of that seriousness is “further training” provided.

Auch nicht für Geld. Unclaimed ist fair. Claimed gibt das Mikrofon — nicht den Radiergummi.
