Not a scam.
Qrcode Monkey buttons acctually lead to qrstud.io and people don't relize they switched websites. Then people think they've lost money. The generator is Free.

Total scam - I seemed to have been taken with the bait and switch -this was a reputable qr code generator some years ago but has been bought out and is no longer safe. I went to this site to make a qr code as I remembered them from years ago but I received a 'welcome' mail from a different company that then sent another email to say my '7 day free trial' was over and if I wanted access to my qr code I needed to take out a subscription. On researching I found that scammers pay companies like this to take out 'buttons' and links on their site that looks like part of the site but that takes the user to the scammers site (which often looks identical to the initial site to keep them on it). My qr code was never made on this site even though I thought it was. It stopped working and I even paid the subscription (to qr.io) to get it back (it was on thousands of cards). But of course it didn't come back - it was discontinued and lost forever. I've seen at least one other reviewer on this page has described a similar experience (being hijacked by another site) and it's a common dark-pattern UX funnel and I hope no-one else gets caught by it. Don't touch this once-loved site with a bargepole - it's now owned by scammers.

I’m so angry I thought I did my research I even asked Shopify for help and I still got scammed by QRcodemonkey I bought all my business cards and the code is deactivated. I am so angry. I’m going to throw all my business cards away and start over with a reputable company. Screw them. Don’t use them.

Arnaque en bande organisée. J'ai crée un QR code gratuitement sur QRCodeMonkey. Quelques jours plus tard je retourne sur leur site qui me propose un lien vers QR.IO pour voir combien de gens ont cliqué sur mon QR code. QR IO propose 7 jours d'essai gratuit pour tester cette fonctionnalité sauf que ce qu'ils se gardent bien de dire c'est qu'à la fin de ces 7 jours d'essai votre QR code d'origine est désactivé si vous ne payait pas leur abonnement à 30 euros par mois!! Embêtant lorsqu'il est imprimé sur son dépliant promotionnel, cette pratique est plus que douteuse, ça s'appelle du racket! numéro de ticket est: 2406978

Absolute Scam..
Absolute Scam... Free to create code but then if you click the "Get started link" points you to set up on another website QR Code Generator... (Look them up on Trust Pilot) Everything seems to be free but then they cancel you after 7 days so if you have printed this on media they are no longer scannable...
