I purchased a pre-owned vehicle from Tesla. It was listed as having a range of 343 miles. When I charged it to 100 percent, however, it only charge to 311 miles. Each time I charged it afterwards it went down. I tries speaking to the sales department at my local facility. He would not discuss it and told me to email "resolutions." I dis and followed up numerous times and none of my emails have been responded to. I made an appointment to have the battery checked by Tesla Service. They won't acknowledge the issue regarding Tesla's false representation and want to charge me to test the battery. I trued calling the customer service number. I can't get through to a human.

Terrible customer service. Our vehicle had been significantly delayed with no explanation then when it finally came to collection day we had an awful experience. The team seemed to have no idea what they were doing and as a result of their incompetence we had to wait 7 hours at the Manchester collection centre. I had to leave to get our children from school but as we were part exchanging I had no vehicle to get home. Had to pay for a Uber to get home…almost £50! Tesla acknowledged their errors and offered to reimburse me for this. The ‘customer experience specialist’ has since ignored our emails. I have emailed the main customer service twice and still no response. Absolutely disgraceful.

I had an excellent experience driving the Tesla Model Y overnight. Having enough time to properly test the car and explore its functionality gave me a completely different experience compared with a short test drive. I was genuinely impressed and came away feeling that the Model Y would be a huge upgrade from my Mercedes. The driving experience, technology and overall functionality actually made me seriously consider buying one. Unfortunately, the customer service experience has left me with serious concerns about what it would be like dealing with Tesla in the future, particularly when the car requires servicing or support. My return was booked for 3pm. At around 11am, I was contacted and told that there was another test drive booked and that if I did not return the car, I would be reported to the police for theft. This completely threw me off because I had received no prior call asking me to return the vehicle earlier, and my agreed return time was 3pm. I found the way this was handled extremely confusing, intimidating and disproportionate. My own car was also on their premises and is of a similar value, so being spoken to in this way made me feel particularly uncomfortable. The interaction left me feeling that I was being treated with unnecessary suspicion, and honestly, it felt discriminatory. To make matters worse, because I was suddenly being rushed to return the vehicle, I accidentally left my expensive sunglasses inside the Tesla. When I returned to collect them, the male advisor told me that he had seen the glasses in the car and suggested that another member of staff may have taken them inside. However, they have subsequently been unable to locate them, and I still have not received my sunglasses back. This is extremely disappointing. I went from genuinely considering purchasing the Model Y after an excellent overnight driving experience to now having serious doubts about whether I would want to deal with the showroom again. The car itself: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The customer service: ⭐⭐ The Tesla Model Y made an extremely strong impression on me as a vehicle. Unfortunately, the way this situation has been handled has made me question whether I would feel comfortable becoming a Tesla customer. I hope Tesla reviews what happened, particularly the communication regarding the return time and what happened to my belongings, because the quality of the car deserves a customer experience to match.

I ordered my car through the Tesla Bicester showroom, expecting the process to be similar to purchasing a vehicle through other dealerships: straightforward, efficient, transparent, and with a clear understanding of exactly what I was buying and paying for before collection. Unfortunately, my experience was anything but that. A key factor in my decision was Tesla's £3,750 finance promotion, which included taking my existing financed vehicle as a part exchange. While Tesla's valuation for my car was significantly lower than offers I had received from Motorway and We Buy Any Car, I accepted this for the convenience of a seamless transaction. Problems began almost immediately. The negative equity calculation on my existing finance agreement was incorrect. When I challenged this with Tesla, I was assured it would be corrected closer to the collection and payment date. However, the Tesla app later updated to show that I needed to make a cash payment of 22k that was clearly incorrect. Tesla had deducted the value of my current car from the purchase price but failed to account for the outstanding finance that also needed to be settled. When I raised this again, I was advised that I would need to reapply for finance, which could negatively impact my credit score and potentially increase my monthly repayments. Concerned, I contacted Black Horse directly. They informed me that the agreement was being delayed because Tesla intended to register the car on a 26 plate, meaning the vehicle had effectively depreciated before I had even collected it. Fortunately, Black Horse referred the case back to underwriting and, as a gesture of goodwill, honoured the originally quoted monthly payments. Despite this, the Tesla app continued to display the incorrect amount required to settle the negative equity. I then asked Tesla to log a complaint and was advised that complaints had to be followed up in writing, contrary to FCA complaint-handling requirements, which require firms to record any expression of dissatisfaction, whether made verbally or in writing. It then emerged that the finance agreement had been calculated on the basis that I was contributing a £3,750 cash deposit in addition to Tesla's £3,750 finance promotion. At no point had I agreed to make such a contribution. As a result, the finance had to be recalculated yet again, which of course increased the monthly repayments. Following further discussions, I was assured everything had finally been resolved and that a revised finance agreement would be issued. However, with my vehicle due for collection on 31 August, I received an email from Tesla on 28 August warning me to sign the finance agreement promptly to avoid delays, despite the fact that I had not yet received the agreement. This resulted in yet another phone call to Black Horse, where I also logged a complaint. Only then did the finance agreement finally arrive. The entire process has been characterised by repeated errors, poor communication, inaccurate finance calculations, last-minute changes, and a lack of ownership from Tesla and Black Horse with customer service experience falling significantly below expectations. This was compounded by a series of unhelpful and, at times, unnecessarily rude emails from Tesla Customer Services. Purchasing a new car should be an exciting and straightforward experience. Instead, it has been stressful, time-consuming, and unnecessarily complicated from start to finish. Unable to add images:- On 28 Aug 2026, at 10:25, Lee Tench wrote: Hi. Be advised, if you order a new Tesla, and two weeks after you order they push your delivery date out 2 months, and you cancel, you’ll lose your deposit! And there’s always the chance if I hadn’t cancelled they could have even pushed it out farther! Money gone, lesson learned!
