full service isn’t guaranteed and car keys didn’t work
First of all, it was a great experience to drive through Portugal in a van and Pedro (the owner) was a friendly guy who explained everything nicely to us. He also told us that we can call him anytime in case there is an issue so we felt very safe. Also, he was relaxed: We didn’t need to clean the car from the outside before bringing the car back for example. But we had some issues and that’s where the problem begins: On two days our car key didn’t work so we couldn’t open the door. Not even manually because the manual lock was already broken, too. So we stood there at beaches in the middle of nowhere without having access to our things. Pedro just told us: That this was weird and that he was sorry but didn’t really had an idea what to do instead. Another issue came with the battery in the back part of the car. That’s the one for the fridge, the USB and plog adapters. Even though Pedro told us that this battery will be charged fully after a long drive, we couldn’t even charge our phones for more than 20 minutes after a drive of 2,5h and the fridge didn’t cool anything. So full service isn’t guaranteed as written in the description. When we brought back the van, Pedro wasn’t there, but we wanted to ask him for a discount. The other guy at the shop told us to text Pedro. We did that twice but still didn’t get an answer. In our opinion that’s very unprofessional and lets us believe that he will give the van to the next guests without any repairs. Hopefully nobody else will stand in a abandoned beach without internet connection, without having access to the car.

Great choice
I have rented 3 vanboxes so far and couldn't have had better experiences in each of them. Pedro was always helpful and nice to us. I highly recommend Vanbox to hit the roads of Portugal. The vans are very comfortable and equipped with everything necessary.

Awesome van rental
Pedro was great and helped get our trip off to a great start! Van layout is perfect for traveling with surfboards. Very easy to park in small city streets and easy to drive through tight winding mountain roads. Service was top notch and will be using again!

Very good experience, in simple words everything was perfect! I highly recommend because the van is okay in any situation, confortable and the process of picking up was easy! I will come back

Uma agradável surpresa, o Pedro provou ser um anfitrião impecável. As carrinhas são equipadas o suficiente para qualquer trilho. Sol no Alqueva, chuva e vento em mafra, dormimos e comemos bem em todas as situações. Voltaremos sem duvida a usufruir do serviço vanbox!
