Booked a Virgin package to New York from Manchester to turn up at the airport get to the gate and it was an airline called Wamos air who we had never heard of. Extremely disappointed not to be informed of the change of plane. Coming home from JFK delayed over 4 hours found out via email no updates by any Virgin ground staff really took the shine out of our holiday.Very disappointed in Virgin Atlantic will be making a complaint and has put us off booking a holiday through them again.

I traveled from Jamaica to NewYork with my family to get our connecting flight to London from JFK.At JFK we experienced rude and incompetent behaviour from the staff at the desk which left us feeling as overwhelmed, embarrassed , utterly annoyed and discriminatory-behaviour .On arrival at the desk we handed in our passports.Without checking our UK status first the representative asked if we had a visa.My husband told him that we had e-visas.He proceeded to ask for them.My husband started what can be a tedious task to retrieve sort codes to access the e-visa for each of us, two adults and two children .The representative just needed to scan our passports which he did without informing us and saving us the hassle. He just handed us back the passport and tickets and say “You’re fine”We took them and walked away .My husband was very annoyed by his behaviour but I sort of down played it to avoid any confrontation. When we joined the line for boarding we had our passports and the tickets given to us to board the plane in hand.Another member of staff passed everybody standing in line and came to us at the back asking again if we had a visa and that she wanted proof of it.I asked her if this was random thing she said no every visa had to be checked.Mind you there were over 200 people on this flight and I am finding it very difficult to believe that we were the only ones that were using e-visas as I witnessed no one else being pulled out of the line for this.Again my husband started to try and access the visas again. She proceeded to say that we must have a screen shot of these which evidently shows how incompetent and unaware she is because she should know that marely looking at a screen shot of the visa does not prove if I have a right to enter the UK.All this time everyone seems to boarded the plane as we were the only ones left behind.I started to feel really annoyed so I asked her why is she checking when her colleague at the desk had already done so.She asked which colleague and I indicated that it was the one wearing a turban. She shouted to him asking if we were ok to go and he shook his head indicating no.I was getting even more annoyed and frustrated. She went over to him and said “Did you see, he said he had not checked your documents “.I told her he was rude to us on our first encounter as he presumed we needed additional documentation which he had access to before checking and now he is saying we are not able to go.She then went back over to him and indicated that we can go without even checking anything again. This level of incompetence and poor customer service is astounding coming from a well established airline operating in a first world country.I have made made the vow to avoid travelling with this airline at all cost.It was not worth me paying my hard earned money just to feel the way I did. Also, If you are travelling with this company and like me you have a Jamaican passport please expect a representative with a Jamaican accent to abuse her power and authority just because she can.

I had booked non refundable tickets on VA but unfortunately was diagnosed with a serious health condition which made it impossible to travel. I wanted to cancel and if possible get a full refund. I really must compliment VA who made the process easy. I contacted customer support , sent them my doctor’s note which specifically stated my condition and how I would not be able to travel for a year( the validity of the ticket) and within a few weeks my credit card was refunded.

Serious concerns about how Virgin Atlantic handled a sexual harassment complaint – VSCR-00497672 / Email 0026710695 I am writing on behalf of my family member, Miss Wilson, who has spent the past four years trying to obtain closure following what she reported as serious sexual harassment onboard a Virgin Atlantic flight. Miss Wilson reported that a male passenger touched and stroked her hair, repeatedly leaned over her seat, made unwanted sexual advances towards her and invited her to the place where he was staying in Jamaica. She became so distressed that she was crouching down in her seat trying to make herself invisible. Another older female family member travelling with her witnessed her distress and took photographs during the flight. The passenger also told Miss Wilson that he was a friend of Richard Branson. At the beginning of the flight, while the aircraft was still airside and before take-off, he made his way towards the area where the pilots go. Miss Wilson says he was not stopped or told to return to his seat, and she has never received a satisfactory explanation about what happened. Virgin Atlantic has stated that the passenger had consumed an excessive amount of alcohol. However, Miss Wilson’s account is that he continued to be served alcohol until approximately six hours into the flight, when she herself raised concerns. Despite the seriousness of what she reported, Miss Wilson says she was not moved away from the passenger, was not given meaningful advice about reporting the incident to police or airport authorities, and has never received meaningful contact from senior management. She initially accepted an apology and £400 in flight vouchers while she was extremely distressed and simply wanted to put the ordeal behind her. She does not want to fly with Virgin Atlantic again. She has since lost her job, has struggled with the impact of the ordeal and needs additional therapy and support. She has sought £2,000 as part of an attempt to bring this matter to a meaningful resolution. Virgin Atlantic has refused and continues to refer to the £400 flight vouchers. There is also a wider issue that I find deeply concerning. The passenger specifically told Miss Wilson that he was a friend of Richard Branson. I am aware of the publicly reported photographs, correspondence and other material concerning Richard Branson, Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, including reports concerning interactions involving Necker Island and Epstein’s private island. I am not suggesting that an association or photograph, by itself, establishes wrongdoing. My concern is that, given what this passenger told Miss Wilson about his relationship with Richard Branson, and given the wider public record surrounding Epstein and Maxwell, Virgin Atlantic should be taking extremely seriously any complaint involving an individual who presented himself to a passenger in this way. What I find particularly difficult to understand is that, despite everything Miss Wilson reported, neither Richard Branson nor anyone from senior management has contacted her personally to acknowledge what happened or demonstrate that her concerns are being taken seriously. Miss Wilson does not want to drag this matter through court. She wanted a private and fair resolution. Unfortunately, four years later, she is still trying to obtain meaningful acknowledgement and closure. As her family member, I have become involved because I have seen the impact this has had on her. I have previously been involved in women’s rights activism, and I will stand beside Miss Wilson and seek justice for her. We would much rather see Virgin Atlantic resolve this privately and appropriately. But if the airline continues to refuse to meaningfully address what happened and the impact it has had on Miss Wilson, I will support her in pursuing the appropriate legal options and making her experience and the way she has been treated publicly known. Miss Wilson deserves to be heard, supported and treated with dignity.

I’m posting this about my mother, on BA flight(BA75) from London Heathrow to Lagos on 12 August 2026. This is the second time BA has done this to her. *What happened:* 1. *Cancellation + zero assistance* Checked in 10:40am for 12:05 flight. Flight was delayed to 13:00 then cancelled. She was put in a wheelchair at 11:25, then taken back at 11:38. BA Assistance didn’t rebook her on BA — they put her on Virgin Atlantic instead. Total disruption. 2. *Missed business + wasted money* She missed all business meetings in Ondo, Nigeria. We’d also pre-paid for her hotel and for a driver’s hotel to take her there. All lost. 3. *Lost luggage* 3 bags checked in. None arrived. - 2 bags delivered 2 days later - *1 bag is STILL MISSING as of today, 28 August 2026* — that’s 16 days later 4. *Awful customer service* BA call centre was unhelpful. No updates, no ownership, no urgency. 5. *Repeat offender* Same thing happened in February LAG-LHR. BA cancelled at the airport and we paid for hotel for her and the driver. Treating an elderly passenger needing assistance like this, then losing her luggage for over 2 weeks with no answers is unacceptable. I cannot recommend British Airways.
