We missed our entire holiday due to a technical fault.

Our flight was delayed by 2 hours at Heathrow. There were no update announcements at our gate but believe something was being said in the neighbouring one. In the end had to ask the staff what was happening. A tyre or wheel was being changed and the brakes had to be tested. I said why don't you come and tell the passengers but no staff came to explain the situation to us. As we were 2 hours delayed we missed our connecting flight in Seattle. An announcement was made that all connecting flights had been rebooked. We couldn't see any info. on the app and we later discovered our flight was for the following day. We were flying to Anchorage to catch a ship that day so lost our entire holiday. BA staff at Seattle were not at the desk until around 4 hours later. We were stranded with no immediate support from.BA . We returned home two days later. It is now 2 months and we have been trying to deal with BA customer services which are dreadful. They keep asking for things which we have already sent and nothing is happening. The same experience is happening to our fellow passenger. This is just appalling treatment and is inexcusable.

Fraudulent activity by BA and abuse of disabled customer.…

I booked a flight with BA and as a disabled customer, I was treated very badly and my case was handled fraudulently. They cancelled my flight suddenly, promise to give me my full refund back . Then refused to send a confirmation email about giving me back my full refund. They are very deceptive. Give false information about their provision. Take your money and then refuse to provide the medical service. They do not give you a resolution to the issues, but cancel your flight and refund back less than half of what you paid for the flight.

Worse Airline For Disabled Passengers

Worse for Disabled customers. Unfortunately they do not provide any actual help to disabled customers , include when booking the flight , getting the seating due to mobility issues and everything link BA have online is just fake as it goes to no one and BA do not pick up the phone … waited over 46mins. Now paid over £150 for seat and still not help and to informed about mobility issues. So Disabled customers avoid travelling BA and any airline that act the same YMP7OW booking Ref number

Absolutely Atrocious!

I was lied to about being able to use Avios points. I transferred all my Avios points at that time to BA yet around 20,000 are missing from my account and despite writing two separate complaints via email and their portal neither have been responded to. I have made 18 phone calls to try and get my points added and to no avail. I am now forced to go to Rip Off Britain consumer affairs TV show about this theft of my points and being lied to by the foreign call centre in Janauary 2025 and up until travel in May 2025 nothing has been rectified. Upon arrival in Antigua there was no advice on how or where to get our pre booked shuttle. We arrived at the hotel which was supposed to be 5 Star - it was more 3 star. My room curtains were hanging off the rails both sides and so couldn’t close. The light switches didn’t work. The shower leaked all over the bathroom floor. The shower rail kept collapsing. There was no kettle in the room, only a dirty coffee maker with an ‘old filter bag’ - disgusting! I reported the lack of a kettle and waited nearly three hours for one to be sent to my room. After three calls I eventually got two, one of which did not work. The room did not have milk cartons like any other hotel and so I could not make tea anyway. I reported everything at guest services and heard nothing throughout our stay. On our first full day I headed to the 7am Yoga class but the teacher didn’t show up! Breakfast buffet was fine but table had no basics like tea and coffee without waiting an age for staff to bring things over by which time you were done eating hoping all the while you didn’t choke on it! Headed to the beach and tried to order a cocktail as was supposed to be an all-inclusive resort so wanted to make the most. They didn’t have the ingredients to make a margarita. Asked for a Pina Colada but they had no rum. Ordered a Mojito but they had no mint. Ended up with a standard punch as that’s all they had however, they had no straws so ended up having it with a spoon! After the beach I tried the main bar to get an alcoholic drink but they didn’t open until 3pm! This did not feel like a holiday, all inclusive or an any star rated hotel. Tried to book the restaurants which we were told was a ‘must’ to eat at. All were fully booked on our first morning there. Eventually got reservations for the Hunter Restaurant. Despite booking when we arrived we were told we would have to wait for a table to be free? We then waited over an hour for our order to be taken then another hour for the food which was disgusting. The buffet was far better and the buffet was basic stuff. Service in general was very slow, although there were a few exceptions. The hotel needs complete refurbishment and rooms need to be fully equipped with working fixtures and fittings. In general, I will never book with BA again. I will never stay at the Royalton again, as customer service with both entities is non existent. I want my Nectar points back! Next action will be legal, so done!

Penalized and down graded for brand loyalty and being organised

Last Wednesday (11/12/24) I tried to check in for my flight from AUH- LHR - this would have been my 5th flight since July. kept getting the Oops something g has happens. reload or try again later. Kept doing this and this meant I was worried the flight wasn’t happening. I got to the airport early, went to check in and was told my flight seat had been down graded. BA must have known but decided not to inform myself or my husband whose World traveller account was as attached to the flight. We had paid for a Premium economy seat mid August. I like to be organised as I am a very nervous flier and don’t like the stress of last minute booking. I also like to choose my seat as I know that certain things trigger my anxiety. I was already anxious as I couldn’t check in and was worried that something with the flight wasn’t happening wrong. I was also banking on the wider seat and more legroom as I had had an operation some weeks before and knew that sitting cramped up for 8 hours would not be helpful and increase the chances of being sore. For the records I was fit to fly. I was told at check in that I had been downgraded. I said that this was unacceptable. I was told that other people had also been downgraded including people in business class as the flight was ‘overbooked’ Business class people were given the option of going on Etihad. Some had been put in Premium economy. I said that it was important that I sit in the seat I had booked. I was told i could have a refund! I asked to see the supervisor. The ground staff said I would have to wait. 45 minutes later the Senior manager arrived. I was very distressed by this time and my anxiety was high. I was also frustrated as people were being sorted out in front of me. When he turned up Shazhad the Abu Dhabi station manager said I had been downgraded because the computer looked at the tickets bought early ( which were a lower fare) and downgraded them- if I had bought them later ( at higher cost) i would not have been bumped down. He said that the computer takes no account of personal circumstances. I have worked in the travel industry and understand ticketing. I explained how difficult I found flying and they could see I was visibly upset. I explained about my operation and he said i could wait. I waited and waited. I asked when I would find out. They said if i didn’t take a seat i wouldn’t be on the flight. I explained that I had onward travel booked and a variety of meetings. professional and personal that I had to go to. They said i could get a full refund and try again tomorrow. Totally missing the point that that was not possible and that I would be at a financial loss as well as have my meetings disrupted. This he repeated. I waited two hours. He started off polite and then became quite sharp in his manner. when I explained that I needed the spacious seat he turned to me and said, “You should have bought business class.”Which I thought was outrageous and the assumption that I was financially able to do so was I think rude and inappropriate given that I had been stood at the check-in desk for over two hours. I had no choice but to go on the flight. He had already booked me in without confirming with me and had put me by the window with the extra legroom. This was not discussed with me. He said i could get compensation. By this time I was very upset and had not been able to take my timed medicine and eat. It totally disrupted my flight preparation and I hadn’t . I will not go into the process I need to do before flying in public but I wasn’t able to do that. Consequently, my flight started with me in a very distressed state; without meds and having to grab a snack on the way to boarding that was not part of the food I need to eat since my operation. I found myself in the worst spot with a gentleman’s who spread across my space and I was scrunched up during the flight- the opposite to what I had paid and planned for to make m flight better physically and mentally. The other man on my row asked if I was alright - which I wasn’t- A member of the ground crew was on the flight and I asked her if I could have a drink of water to take my over due medicine . she said no. I’d have to ask cabin crew. The light kept on going off so I wasn’t seen straigh to. We were then told no wifi on this flight and then later not enough of the main meal to have a choice but they hoped we would get the one we preferred monitor flopped Theo, one of the cabin crew came to see me during the flight and offered me a pack to make up for not being in my bought seat. And i could have a drink. I accepted this as it was not his fault and by then i was so mentally exhausted that I didn’t not want to be rude as it wasn’t his fault. But i did feel this is poor all round. Ultimately, I am being penalized for being loyal to a brand that does not give any consideration to a loyal customer. I am being penalized for being organized. It was a horrible flight - i return 29/12. :(
