Transparent support, but BTC fees make tight-stop trading unworkable
I contacted Breakout before purchasing, so this review concerns my genuine pre-purchase support experience and the BTC pricing structure they confirmed. I have not traded a Breakout evaluation or funded account, so I am not reviewing payouts or funded execution. Their support was professional, transparent and willing to verify my calculations. However, they confirmed that every BTC trade is charged 0.04% of the complete notional position when opening and another 0.04% when closing, resulting in a 0.08% round-trip commission. They also confirmed that: The commission is identical for all order types. There is no maker/taker distinction or maker rebate. There are no volume discounts, professional rates or performance-based reductions. There is no commission cap. The complete closing commission applies even when a hard stop-loss is triggered immediately. For example, on a $100,000 account with BTC around $80,000, a strategy using a $100 stop-loss and risking 1% through price movement requires approximately 10 BTC, or $800,000 notional exposure. The resulting round-trip commission is approximately $640: Gross 2% take-profit: +$2,000 becomes approximately +$1,360. Break-even exit: approximately −$640. 1% price stop-loss: −$1,000 becomes approximately −$1,640. This reduces an intended gross 1:2 risk-to-reward trade to approximately 0.83:1 net before spread and slippage. Breakout support explicitly confirmed that this calculation is correct. I appreciate the honesty and quality of their support. However, this commission model makes Breakout economically unsuitable for my M1 BTC strategy with $50–$200 stop-losses. It may be more suitable for traders using substantially wider stops and lower notional exposure. I hope Breakout eventually introduces lower BTC fees, maker/taker pricing, volume tiers or a commission cap. Under the current pricing structure, I cannot justify purchasing an account for tight-stop BTC trading.

After seeing a couple of low star reviews among the many 5 star ones wanted to add from a funded trader viewpoint This is the among the most straightforward and reliable firms in the prop space, no doubt - I’ve withdrawn about 80 payouts in the last 2/3 months. Never a delay or issue, never. Payouts are same or next day Have posted in the payout section. I’m going for consistency ( am an ex institutional market maker ) but others have posted much bigger mega payouts including over 100k on one trade - and they are paid, There are no rules to stop real traders like consistency, risk interview, payout delays etc - always paid same or next day period, no denials ever, any legit trading style. The one step classic is static dd - 100 pct - and only rules for an honest trader are daily and max dd- thats it Perhaps some newer traders didn’t understand what challenge they bought but there is absolutely no deceit or hidden rules etc I traded for over 20 years,made markets in fx volitility options etc for many years at primary dealers interbank, and learned eth just to come here to trade as a hobby. Elsewhere I was never sure if would get paid if big payout, even closing a position when up 10000 as thought wouldn’t get paid more. If you have to wait weeks or months between payouts it’s not real trading, on purpose IMHO. Take a look at the reviews here from actual funded traders or the payout section of discord, it’s legit Ps if you hit target it auto closes, if you pass you get the contract in seconds, and usually funded in next hour/s. You can request payouts every 30 minutes and they reset the account immediately so can trade right away in the trend again if want to. Trade your own style make as much as you want and can. Period. If you can trade or want to get there it’s the place to be.
