I got there and got the hard sale about insurance, I decided to take it out, 800 Euros!! when I returned the guy started his inspection, MY GOD I said we have full insurance!! he said I will still check, then BANG he said found a scratch on the bumper, really, told me I will be charged even though I had the full insurance, and refused to give me back the 100 Euro Fuel deposit, I go to Innsbruck 4 times a year, you lost my business complete shower of Idiots

WARNING scam hidden fees
WARNING: SCAM AND HIDDEN FEES! DO NOT RENT HERE! Our group rented a total of three vehicles from Europcar for our vacation. To ensure absolute peace of mind, I specifically purchased their most expensive, fully comprehensive premium protection package with zero deductible. After about a week of rental, I returned my VW Tayron in absolutely perfect condition. There was not a single scratch on it, the gas tank was completely full, and I had driven very few kilometers during the trip. Despite all this, and despite paying for full coverage, they charged my credit card an additional 60.60 EUR for a fabricated Special Cleaning fee. The alleged damage? A few dry breadcrumbs left on the back seat by my kids. There were absolutely no stains, no liquid spills, and zero actual damage to the interior. It was nothing more than standard wear and tear that takes exactly two minutes to vacuum. When I disputed this ridiculous charge, their customer service completely ignored common sense, hiding behind automated copy-paste replies. They even attached their own photos that clearly showed nothing but dry crumbs! This is a disgraceful tourist trap. They use these fake cleaning penalties to squeeze extra money out of honest customers, hoping you will just pay and give up. A supposedly reputable global brand should not resort to such cheap extortion tactics. Do yourself a favor and rent from a trustworthy company that doesn't penalize you for normal usage. I will never use Europcar again, and they have permanently lost our group as returning customers.

We were a group of four seniors who kept the car meticulously clean throughout our trip. To our shock, we were hit with a €60 "special cleaning fee" upon return. The car was spotless, and this charge is a complete scam. We strongly suspect we were targeted unfairly by the local staff. When we asked for proof, none was provided. Vehicle was new and clean, HOWEVER customer service when we experienced a problem was appalling.
Vehicle was new and clean. Pickup and return was easy and smooth. HOWEVER customer service when we experienced a problem was appalling. Every number used ended up at the dame call centre who was unable to do anything other than provide an email. Our car was out of action for over 2 days while we attempted to get hold of anyone to assist. Eventually managed to get someone at the pick-up place who then did help. They were very good. What is the point of providing emergency contact numbers that go to a call centre with people NOT empowered to provide any service
