Overall great experience. Will do again
Overall, we had an excellent experience with Road Bear RV and would definitely recommend them. This was our very first RV trip, so there was obviously a learning curve, but the RV itself was fantastic. Everything was clearly explained, easy to operate, and worked very well throughout our trip. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful, and both the pick-up and return processes were easy and pleasant. There are just a few things that I think could make the experience even better, particularly for first-time RV travelers like us. One thing we only discovered when returning the RV was the area where previous travelers leave useful items they no longer need. We ended up leaving quite a few things ourselves—mops, trash cans, mats, insect repellents, bear spray, and other useful supplies. I wish we had known about this area when we picked up the RV, because we probably could have found several things there at the beginning of our trip. It would be great if first-time renters were told about this during orientation. We also had an issue with the house battery, which did not last very long. We assumed this was normal for an RV, but when we returned the vehicle, the staff explained that it was not. Fortunately, we only spent a few nights without full hookups toward the end of the trip, so it did not significantly affect our experience. The one issue that did result in a meaningful unexpected expense was the mileage. When we made the reservation, we estimated the mileage for our planned itinerary. At pick-up, I specifically asked whether our mileage package was appropriate and whether I should purchase additional miles in advance. I understood from the explanation that there was no need to worry because additional mileage could simply be charged afterward at a very small additional rate. I understood this to be around one cent per mile. In reality, the additional mileage was charged at approximately $0.45 per mile, which made the difference quite significant. Had I understood the actual rate, I definitely would have purchased additional mileage in advance. Better guidance on this point would have been very helpful. Of all the extras we included, the only one I definitely would not purchase again is the internet service. The device provided was unfortunately of very little use to us and essentially never worked properly during the trip. We eventually purchased Starlink, which worked extremely well and completely solved the connectivity issue. The internet device came in a cardboard box, which we accidentally lost during the trip. We were charged for the box because it held the instruction booklet when we returned the RV. We had not realized that losing the box/booklet would result in an additional charge, although the amount was very small and this was not a significant issue. Finally, I felt that the approximately $150 basic convenience kit was relatively expensive for what was included. Knowing what I know now, I would probably purchase those items myself or first check what previous travelers had left behind. These are relatively minor observations compared with the overall experience. We had a wonderful trip, the RV performed extremely well, everything was straightforward, and the Road Bear team was friendly and professional throughout the entire process. For our first RV experience, Road Bear made things remarkably easy, and we would absolutely consider renting from them again.

Good service
Pick-up and return were very efficient, reliable and fair. The vehicle itself was not in the best condition with a number of minor but practical deficiencies (leaks, functionality, dead batteries), however, service was good.

My RV was well equipped and ready…
My RV was well equipped and ready on-time. Overall, it was convenient to rent from Road Bear. My camp site was located on some narrow roads, that I found it hard to drive the camper to, but that was Road Bear's fault.
