Verbling was an awful experience
Verbling was an awful experience. I booked about 10 lessons with my instructor who was wonderful by the way, but the camera never worked, so we worked through the platform but we used her zoom because the camera never worked. Also, one time my teacher cancelled our lesson because she went on vacation and I tried to reschedule the lesson, but instead of rescheduling the platform kept prompting me to buy 5 more lessons which I didn't want to do. So I reached out to them and they just kept saying they would give me credits, but I was like, no, I don't want the credits. I just want to schedule my final class. Finally, they said they would refund my money, but the card that was stored in the system was an old card and they said they refunded me the money and that I would have to call my bank about the refund, but of course I never got refunded because the card was no longer working. They are just an awful platform to work wtih.

Cam only works one-sided
For 5-6 months already, the camera only works one-sided. Or the teacher doesn't see the pupil, or the pupil doesn't see the teacher. They have been mailed several times, they keep saying they're fixing it. But half a year is really a huge time period for such a fundamental problem. Unbelievable. I'll quit when my remaining lessons finish and find another platform for lessons.

Found a great teacher on Verbling but…
Found a great teacher on Verbling but unfortunately their software is often unreliable. On more than one occasion we have had to move the lesson to another medium. In addition they have a very deceptive practice business practice regarding renewal of unused lessons. If for whatever reason life gets in the way and you fail to renew your lessons after a year they will take your money and refuse to reschedule the lessons. It would not surpise me if a large portion of their revenue is accumulated through unused classes. Sure this clause is hidden in their fine print, but it's very similar to the pratice to businesses profiting from peoplee forgetting to cancel their subscription. Just a very poor business practice.

Customer service worse than their platform
My teacher is great but she didn’t like verbling as well. Their platform didn’t work for 16 out of 20 of my lessons. It became weekly my teacher and I would use Google meets to have our lessons and her verbling would still take my money and still took a cut from my teacher. My teacher, for two months, was trying to get their developers to do something. I was taking screen shots and giving them to my teacher for her to complain. It became clear that their developers didn’t care and weren’t going to help. So I complained to verbling and they said I didn’t have any evidence of platform issues and that my screenshots (of their chat platform) wasn’t enough evidence to issue a refund. They’re horrible to their teachers. Horrible to their students. And even their platform literally didn’t work for me. Video never worked and my teacher couldn’t share documents she’d made for me. My job is in tech and we couldn’t figure it out why verbling platform never worked so we used google meets. Their customer service is as incompetent as their platform.

This site is also a plain old SCAM
This site is also a plain old SCAM. They take your money and disappear!!!! Their platform doesn’t work and they take advantage of people who really want to learn a foreign language. All these online tutorial sites have become scams to steal your money. Go to a LEGITIMATE school. It costs more, but you get better results. Again, DO NOT USE this platform. They just want to scam you out of your money. Period!!!!!!!!!
